Birthday of Pushin marked in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A ceremony of laying flowers to the monument of Alexandr Pushkin was held in Tashkent on 6 June 2015 within the celebration of the Day of Pushkin and Day of Russian language.

Russian envoy Vladimir Tyurdenov participated in the event along with poets and literature representatives of Uzbekistan.

Vladimir Tyurdenov said that Pushkin was genius person and great writer. His works show power and flexibility of the Russian language.

He noted that 6 June is marked in Russia as Day of Pushkin and Day of the Russian language. He said that Pushkin and his works still inspire many Uzbek poets.
