Birth rate in Uzbekistan was 21.4 pro mil in 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of resident population of Uzbekistan as of 1 January 2012 made up 29.559 million persons, or increased by 435,700 people or 1.5% compared to the beginning of 2011.

The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan added number of urban population was 15.07 million and rural population – 14.489 million, or 51% and 49% respectively of the total number of population.

In January-December 2011, the birth rate was 21.4 pro mil and decreased by 1 pro mil compared to the same period of 2010 (22.4 pro mil).

In the reporting period, the death rate was 4.9 pro mil. The committee said that some 61.3% of them died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.1% – neoplasms, 6.1% - accidents, poisonings and traumas, 6.1% -respiratory diseases, and 5.8 % – diseases of digestive organs.

According to the preliminary data, 6,700 children died at the age under one year in 2011. The infant mortality rate decreased from 11 pro mil in January-December 2010 to 10.8 pro mil in January-December 2011.

Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year, 48.7% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 33.7% - respiratory diseases, 7.4% - congenital anomalies and 4.7% - infectious and parasitic diseases.

In January-December 2011, some 289,000 marriages and 18,200 divorces were registered. There were 9.8 marriages (in 2010 – 10.3) and 0.6 divorces (in 2010 – 0.6) per 1000 population.

According to the preliminary data, number of immigrants was 135,900 persons in 2011. The arrival rate per 1000 population decreased from 5 pro mil in January-December 2010 to 4.6 pro mil in January-December 2011.

In January-December 2011, number of emigrants was 182,400 persons. The departure rate per 1000 population decreased from 6.5 pro mil in January-December 2010 to 6.2 pro mil in January- December 2011.

The net migration was minus 46,500 persons versus in 2011 minus 44,100 persons in 2010, the committee underlined.
