The two events are organized by the IT Association of Uzbekistan and endorsed by Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan from the Government side. The partner of the events is “ICT Policy” (ICTP) Project of United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan.
Held for the third consecutive year, the exhibition and forum are planned as a significant event informing the wide audience as well as professionals on information technology with practice of creating and implementing software development projects in the country.
Achievements and prospects of the software industry, designed for businesses, public institutions and the general public will be demonstrated at the exhibition. The National Forum of Programmers will bring together the leading experts in the field of development and implementation of software products, and will allow them to discuss the latest achievements in the field, share their experiences and conduct master classes.
The time of the exhibition and forum was not chosen randomly. It coincides with the International Day of Information Society - 17 May - announced by the International Telecommunication Union in 2005. And from this point of view, the exhibition is a unique contribution of Uzbekistan into the international initiative.
The events will be attended by international and local IT companies, software producers, content developers, service providers, research and educational institutions, representatives of ministries and departments. About 40 companies in the software market have applied for participation in the exhibition. Total area of exhibition stands is about 400 sq. m. More than 200 IT companies are participating in the Forum.
The course of the exhibition includes 10 seminars, 6 master classes, broadcasts of presentation programs, sharing the experiences on the implementation of successful projects in the industry, international workshop on the programming language PERL is also planned to be held during the exhibition and forum.
The awarding ceremony of the Republican contest winners in the following categories will be organized during the exhibition: Software product - brand of the year; The best company in the sphere of IT education; The best project implemented in 2008. In addition, the “Seminar room” will be arranged for exhibitors for organizing large-scale activities on promoting their products and services. It is also planned to conduct a wide variety of recreational activities.
Participation in this exhibition and forum will enable exhibitors to present and promote their products; consumers will be able to learn about the goods and services. Besides, the exhibition will open new prospects for business expansion by raising awareness of customers and establishing new business contacts.
The IT Association of Uzbekistan initiated establishment of the Software developers’ Association of Uzbekistan. This partnership is to help local software developers to work more effectively in labor market, exchange information, conduct educational activities. The first organizational meeting of the Association will be held on 14 May 2009.
