Berlin is actively preparing for the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 April, a conference on the topic "Uzbekistan-Germany: new horizons of cooperation" was held in Tashkent. The event is timed to coincide with the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Germany.

The responsible officer of the German Foreign Ministry for Uzbekistan, Milan Klopprogge, in his speech, especially focused on the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Germany.

Milan Klopprogge stressed that in Berlin, in particular in the German Foreign Ministry, active preparations are underway to conduct the visit at the proper level. In particular, the political and business circles of Germany are focused on the productive results of the future visit. Undoubtedly, the outlined agreements will open new guidelines for the development of the Uzbek-German mutually beneficial partnership in all areas of interaction.

Touching upon bilateral relations, the German representative of the Foreign Ministry touched upon the dynamically expanding contacts at the level of governments, ministries and departments of the two countries. For example, last year German Foreign Affairs A. Berbock visited Uzbekistan, where issues of deepening ties in the fields of education, gender equality, ecology, and alternative energy sources were discussed in detail. The result of this will be the signing of a "Road Map" for a two-year period to build partnerships in these areas.

As Milan Klopprogge emphasized, the importance of the Central Asian region, in particular Uzbekistan, is growing in Berlin’s foreign policy. Germany is particularly interested in further deepening cooperation with the countries of the region. Promising and mutually beneficial areas, in his opinion, are the issues of energy efficiency management, resource saving, digitalization, as well as labor migration, vocational education, teaching German, etc.

The conference was organized by ISMI, the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) and the Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Central Asia.

The forum brought together a solid composition of participants from among the representatives of political-forming circles, parliaments, the diplomatic corps, business communities, ministries and departments of the two countries. Experts from leading think tanks in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, America, who arrived in Uzbekistan as observers for the upcoming referendum on constitutional reform, were also invited to the conference.
