Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Revenue of Beeline in Uzbekistan grew by 8.4% year-on-year in 2018– to 2.53 trillion soums, VEON said in a statement.
At the same time, the operator’s revenue made up 635 billion soums in the fourth quarter of 2018, which grew by 1.2% year-on-year.
Revenue in the mobile services segment totaled 630 billion soums in the fourth quarter of 2018 (+ 1.4%) and 2.51 trillion soums in 2018 (8.3%).
Revenue from data transmission services in the fourth quarter of 2018 period exceeded 247 billion soums (+52.1%) and 872 billion soums (+49%) in 2018.
EBITDA (operating profit before depreciation of fixed assets, amortization of intangible assets and losses associated with depreciation of assets) in Uzbekistan in the fourth quarter of 2018 reached 254 billion soums, which is 4.7% less than in the same period of 2017. EBITDA decreased by 5.4% in nine months of 2018 and reached 1.04 trillion soums.
At the same time, the margin of operations decreased from 42.5% in the fourth quarter of 2017 to 40% for the same period of 2018. In January-December, the figure made up 43.3%, which fell by 6.3 percentage points year-on-year.
According to the results of the fourth quarter of 2018, the subscriber base of Beeline in Uzbekistan totaled 9.1 million people, which is 6% less than in the fourth quarter of 2017. At the same time, data transfer services are used by 5.5 million people in the reporting period (+ 9.6%).
Average bill for a mobile subscriber per month (ARPU) made up 22,917 soums in the fourth quarter of 2018, which is 5.7% more compared to the same period of 2017.
Indicator MOU (minutes of use) reached 608 minutes in the fourth quarter of period compared with 574 minutes in the same period of 2017 (+2.6%). The use of data transfer per user grew by 124.7% in the fourth quarter of 2018 to 1457 MB.
