Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The digital operator Beeline Uzbekistan is undertaking extensive work to expand coverage and increase the capacity of its network throughout the Republic, including in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.
Beeline Uzbekistan is actively expanding and upgrading its network in these areas to provide its customers with the best possible service and access to modern telecommunications services. This year, the company has already built and launched 177 new base stations, with 123 in the Bukhara region and 54 in Navoi.
New base stations have already been set up in the Bukhara city and the districts of Bukhara, Vabkent, Gijduvan, Kagan, Karakul, Peshkun, and Shafirkan. In the Bukhara district, a new 4G base station launched in the village of Khuminobod, covering the entire settlement, replacing a portable mobile base station that was previously placed. Furthermore, 4G network coverage was extended to a large number of communities located far from major routes.
In the Navoi region, new base stations are already operating in the cities of Navoi, Uchkuduk, and Zarafshan, as well as the districts of Karmana, Navbahor, and Kyzyltepa.
In addition to building new stations, significant network modernization has been carried out. This year, 129 base stations were upgraded: 79 of them in the Bukhara region and 50 in the Navoi region. In the Bukhara region, one of the new base stations provided additional coverage for the largest dehkan market in the city of Bukhara and a significant part of the historical landmarks in the city center, such as the Samanid Mausoleum and Chashma-Ayub, as well as the Ark Fortress and surrounding areas. In the Karakul district, a new base station provided connectivity for the largest gas chemical complex in Central Asia, which is an anchor resident of the Karakul SEZ. In the Navoi region, two base stations in the Nurata district provide connectivity for the shale processing complex that is now under construction.
Moreover, MW hops were upgraded, including the renewal and construction of new ones, which significantly increased capacity and offloaded the existing infrastructure, ensuring more stable data transmission and reception. Work was also carried out to improve the reliability of base station backup power supplies.
The launch of new base stations and the modernization of existing ones ensure boosted mobile internet speeds and improved connection quality in the region. Speeds increased by 50% in Bukhara and 40% in Navoi.
The share of VoLTE traffic in the Bukhara region grew tenfold and thirteenfold in the Navoi region since the beginning of the year, reaching 21.5 and 10 thousand Erlangs, respectively. The rollout of VoLTE technology across Uzbekistan began in the Navoi region in October, and the technology's share of traffic has increased 25 times since then.
“We continue to work on expanding and modernizing the network in the Bukhara and Navoi regions, with plans to launch an additional 33 base stations in the region by the end of summer. Once the active construction phase is done, a large-scale network test drive will be carried out to fine-tune the equipment and improve network performance.
Moreover, we are pleased with the active growth of subscribers using VoLTE, which has undeniable advantages in voice quality and call connection speed compared to traditional 2G and 3G networks. This also demonstrates that our customers are eager to be at the forefront of technology and take advantage of all available services from Beeline.
I am also pleased to note that over the past year, the number of subscribers using Beeline's digital apps, such as Beeline Uzbekistan, Beepul, and other entertainment services, has increased by more than a third in the last year, with both of our regions leading this trend,” added Dmitry Kazbanov, Director of the Southwest Branch of Beeline Uzbekistan.
