The operator said Beeline subscribers made 8 million calls in the first hour of New Year, of which 95% were successful thanks to efforts of the company.

In December 2009, technical department of Unitel carried out several measures to prepare Beeline network to uninterrupted and comfortable servicing of subscribers in New Year night. The operator said the special attention was paid to overload of network on 31 December.

Anton Golikov, technical director of Unitel LLC, said: “Last year taught us to work in conditions of unexampled traffic. Such unique marketing proposals of Beeline as Hit and Prostiyi Veshi Bonus increased load of network to pick figures of New Year Nights of 2008-2009. However, we were able to keep traditional high communication quality during 2009 and successfully pass the main New Year examination without serious malfunctions in networks’ work.”
