Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Single communication operator Beeline became the first mobile communication operator in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which signed an agreement with Twitter Inc. on providing content services to Beeline subscribers via short message service (SMS).

Twitter is becoming popular in our country very fast, which we can see on the example of our page www.twitter.com/beeline_uz, and we give our subscribers a unique opportunity to open a profile without computers. After the end of testing period, we are planning to launch the service on commercial basis."

According to agreement, Beeline subscribers in Uzbekistan can post their messages on Twitter from their mobile phones by sending SMS to a short number 89338 (TWEET). Besides, they will be able to send messages to friends in Twitter, get tweets from their Twitter following list, as well as get messages from friends in Twitter via SMS.
