Beeline revenue in Uzbekistan makes up US$179m in 2Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Revenue of Beeline in Uzbekistan made up US$179 million in the second quarter of 2014, which rose by 7% year-on-year, Vimpelcom Ltd said in its financial report.

Vimpelcom said that its revenue in mobile communication segment rose by 7.27% in the reporting period to US$177 million. Revenue in fixed communication segment exceeded US$2 million. The growth rate made up 5.2%.

The revenue from data transfer services made up US$31.3 million in the second quarter of 2014, growing 4.55% year-on-year.

Largest communication operator Beeline invested over US$10 million to expansion of its network in Uzbekistan in the second quarter of 2014, which fell by 71.43% compared to the second quarter of 2013.

Index EBITDA (Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization) in Uzbekistan per annum grew up by 6% - to US$115 million. At the same time margin of transactions decreased on 0.5 percentage points to 64.2%.

Beeline subscriber base in Uzbekistan by the results of the second quarter amounted to 10.4 million people, which rose by 2%. The company said that over 5.3 million people used USB-modems in the second quarter of 2014, which grew by 6% year-on-year.

Average bill for a mobile subscriber per month (ARPU) rose from $5.3 in the second quarter of 2013 to US$5.6 in the same period of 2014. Indicator MOU (minutes of use) reached 531 minutes in comparison with 472 one year ago.
