Veterans Social Support Fund Nuroniy orhanized special events for war veterans in cooperation with local authorities, which was dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the World War Two. Regional Branches of Unitel initiated the action “Call to brother-officer” within these events.
Erkin Bakibaev, chairman of the Central Council of Nuroniy, said: “We highly value attention of Beeline to war veterans. It is difficult to overrate happiness from communication with brother-officers, relatives and friends. In the Day of Remembrance and Honour, Beeline was able to brighten up soldier friendship.”
On 9 May, Beeline opened mobile communication points in 13 cities of Uzbekistan from Nukus to Andijan, where veterans can make free call to any part of the world. Hundred of veterans, who participated in the actions, call to the CIS state and European countries.
Andrei Anisimov, Unitel’s acting director-general, said: “The action became transitional for Uzbekistan. For us, it is good opportunity to do something for those people who fight for our lives and freedom. I hope that communication with friends and relatives provided them several happy minutes.”
The operator said it carried out first action “Call to brother-officer” in 2009, when about 200 veterans participated in it.
