Speed in all new tariff plans was increased twice and preliminary cost of the service was kept. One more innovation was introduction of unlimited tariff. To subscribe to new tariffs, the subscribers should submit application at Beeline offices in Navoi and Zarafshan.
Ivan Smolentsev, Buzton JV LLC director-general, commented: “Development of broadband access on wide-scale technology is one of the priorities of Beeline in Uzbekistan. Navoi region takes special place in this strategy, which became test field for fiber optic network. We are sure that introduction of new tariff will be powerful stimulus for further broadband penetration in the region.”
In June 2009, Beeline completed construction of FTTB (Fiber To The Building) network in Zarafshan. Currently, it is the largest local data transfer network, which allows access to Internet at the speed of 100 megabit per second. Construction of FTTB network is close to completion in Uchkuduk.
Number of subscribers to broadband Internet comprised 8,300 at the end of third quarter of 2009.
