Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s commercial banks as of 1 January 2019 have issued more than 17.68 million banking plastic cards, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

The number of installed payment terminals (POS-terminals) made up over 244,910 units, and ATMs and info kiosks - about 6,860 units.

People’s Bank of Uzbekistan is the leader in terms of issues banking plastic cards with an indicator of 3.44 million units. Agrobank issued 2.4 million banking plastic cards, and the National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity - 2.04 million plastic cards.

Agrobank led in the number of installed POS-terminals. The bank has installed 31,650 POS- terminals. The number of installed POS-terminals of People’s Bank exceeds 30,500 units and Ipoteka-Bank – 27,710 units.

Kapitalbank became the leader in the number of ATMs and infokiosks – 2,650 units. Agrobank ranks second with an indicator of 617 ATMs and info kiosks. Hamkorbank has installed 605 ATMs and self-service terminals.

In January-December 2018, the volume of revenues through POS-terminals amounted to 63.71 trillion soums.
