Banks issue 5.6 trln. soums to small and private businesses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued loans for 5.6 trillion soums to small and private businesses in nine months of 2013, which rose 1.3 times year-on-year.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the bank financed project on service development for 603.7 billion soums. The businesswomen got 499.5 billion soums of loans.

The loans for 170.2 billion soums were issued to finance projects on developing cattle breeding, 58.5 billion soums – poultry, 56.8 billion soums – production of fruits, vegetables, melons, and grapes, 22 billion soums to development of fishing and beekeeping.

The commercial banks allocated loans for 99.6 billion soums to support family business and craftsmanship and 86.5 billion soums to dehkans and farmers.

Some 56.8 billion soums were issued to create new and intensive gardens and vineyards, and reconstruction of existing plantations. This helped to create 15,000 new jobs in rural areas.

The loans worth 136.4 billion soums were issued to development of poultry, fishing and beekeeping farms in each rural district.

The Central Bank underlined that the commercial banks issued 58.4 billion soums of consumer loans to population to purchase long-term use products.

Uzbekistan implements programme on developing rural housing. In 2009-2012, Uzbekistan constructed 23,600 individual houses at new 650 districts. Some US$1.2 billion were directed to implementation of the programme.

It is planned to construct 10,000 houses in 353 rural areas this year. About 1.385 trillion soums will be issued by the banks to finance constructs of these houses.

Uzbekistan is also working on construction of 105 apartment buildings due to loans of the banks. After construction, the apartments will be realized to young families. The banks invested 93.5 billion soums to construction of apartments.
