Bandits attack police block in Hanabad, suicide bombing in Andijan city

A group of bandits, consisting of 2-3 persons, attacked police block at the entrance of Hanabad city of Andijan region at the night from 25 to 26 May, prosecutors of Uzbekistan said.
In the result of shootings, a police officer and a bandit were wounded. Bandits escaped at the result of rebuff.
A man blew himself up in the Uzbek city of Andijan Tuesday, killing a policeman and wounding several other people, said prosecutors.
An unknown man carried out a suicide bombing on Fitrat Street in the town of Andijan at around 13:45-14:00, as a result of which one policeman died and several citizens were wounded, the Uzbek prosecutor general’s office said in a statement.
On preliminary results, the group of bandits came to Uzbekistan territory from neighboring Kyrgyzstan.
Operative headquarters, including representatives of all law enforcement bodies, was created in Andijan. Law enforcement bodies are searching for bandits and investigation is underway.
