Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Executive Director of UN Women Sima Sami Iskandar Bacchus, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the “Asian Women’s Forum”, taking place these days in Samarkand.

“I thank Ms. Bacchus for her continued support of reforms aimed at creating the best conditions for women and girls in our country. Ensuring gender equality, promoting the empowerment of women, realizing their full potential in our society are among the main priorities of the Government of Uzbekistan on the path to achieving long-term prosperity,” noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in his telegram channel.
