Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, in the ancient city of Khiva for high-level diplomatic talks in a constructive atmosphere.

"We highly value the allied relations, strategic partnership, and centuries-old bonds of friendship between our nations," said Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the First Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the two countries. "This is yet another important step in strengthening our political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and deepening humanitarian ties between our peoples," Saidov noted.

The ministers discussed key bilateral issues and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing comprehensive cooperation between the brotherly nations.

Following the talks, they visited Ichan Kala, a unique historical and architectural complex included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

"Walking through the ancient streets of this magnificent open-air museum, we once again felt the greatness of our ancestors' cultural and historical heritage, which continues to unite our peoples. Khiva, with its distinctive architecture and enduring spirit, stands as a symbol of our shared history and strong friendship," Saidov remarked.

He emphasized that the joint tour not only reflects strengthening diplomatic cooperation but also underscores the commitment to mutual understanding, respect for shared historical heritage, and the development of cultural ties between the two fraternal nations.
