Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 July, Baharden Mohamed Fazal, an expert from Crescent Rating from Singapore, visited Khorezm region.
This visit took place as part of the recognition of Khiva as the tourism capital of the Islamic world in 2024.
The purpose of inviting Baharden Mohamed Fazal to Khorezm was to exchange views on the effective organization of planned major international events, as well as to familiarize him with the tourism potential of Khorezm
During the visit, Baharden Mohamed Fazal studied the possibilities of pilgrimage tourism on the territory of the State Museum Reserve “Ichan Kala”.
“This is my first visit to Ichan-Kala,” said Mr. Fazal. - Amazing atmosphere, historical appearance, preserved to this day for future generations. I can say with confidence: the Ichan-Kala fortress is one of the best places I have ever seen. I recommend everyone to come to Khiva and enjoy the beauty of Ichan-Kala.
The expert also visited the Juma Mosque, the mausoleums of Said Allauddin and Pakhlavan Mahmud, as well as the Farovon Hotel. In addition, the expert met with the mayor of Khiva, Temur Davletov, and discussed the rich potential and prospects of the city in the field of tourism. He also gave his advice on the effective organization of major international events planned in connection with Khiva receiving the status of "Tourist Capital of the Islamic World - 2024".
At the end of the visit, memorable gifts were presented to the guest on behalf of the Khokimiyat of Khiva.
Since 2015, Crescent Rating, together with the international financial organization Mastercard, has been annually compiling the international ranking of the World Muslim Tourism Index. The information contained in the organization’s reports is widely used by tourism experts, the media and educational institutions around the world as the main statistical and analytical source, as well as in scientific papers, presentations and articles.
In 2021, Uzbekistan took 16th place in the ranking of “Favorable Destinations for Muslim Tourists” (22nd place in 2019).
