Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights conducted a control purchase based on citizen complaints. It was found that 6 out of 7 types of ice cream from the company X XASANBOY VA XOLOD contained Escherichia coli bacteria.

As part of the inspection, 7 types of ice cream under the brand "Khatabych," produced by this company, were purchased. These products, according to their labeling, did not contain sugar. The products were sent to three accredited laboratories for analysis.

According to the conclusion of the laboratory of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Control Department under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, bacteria of the Escherichia coli group were found in the "Eskimo," "Banana," "Pistachio," "Chocolate," "Apricot," and "Plombir" ice creams, making these products non-compliant with the SanPiN 0366-19 bacteriological standards.

The accredited laboratory LLC TEXNOSTANDART-NEO determined that the sugar content in the "Eskimo," "Banana," "Pistachio," and "Chocolate" ice creams was twice the established norm (37.7-38.1% instead of 14.5-17.5%). The "Oat Plombir" ice cream had sugar content below the norm.

The conclusion of the Inspection for Technical Regulation of the Agency for Technical Regulation of the Republic of Uzbekistan showed that the packaging of the "Eskimo," "Banana," "Pistachio," "Chocolate," "Apricot," "Oat," and "Plombir" ice creams lacked about 10 necessary consumer data.

Additionally, the packaging did not include supporting documents justifying claims that the product aids in weight loss, boosts the immune system, and improves mood.

Documents confirming non-compliance with technical requirements have been sent to the Agency for Technical Regulation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan for measures to withdraw the products from circulation.
