Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Former Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov was detained as part of a criminal case on suspicion of corruption crimes. This was reported by Kun.uz with reference to its sources.

According to a source from Gazeta.uz, Aziz Voitov is suspected of committing economic crimes.

Aziz Voitov headed the Ministry of Agriculture from August 2022 to October 2023. He was fired at the end of October 2023.

He is currently under investigation.
