Speaking at Uzbekistan-US Business Forum, he said that last year General Motors opened the plant on production of engines in Uzbekistan.

He said that the company formed export portfolio. He said that it will supply engines from Brazil to Indonesia. He did not elaborate on details of the deals.

General Motors and Uzavtosanoat created a joint venture on production of automobile engines in the end of 2008. General Motors holds 52% stake in GM Powertrain Uzbekistan.

The project cost is US$521.8 million. General Motors Powertrain Uzbekistan will produce BDONC engine with the volume of 1.2 liters (82 horsepower) and 1.5 liters (115 horsepower). The capacity of the enterprise is 200,000 engines a year.
