Azeri sculptor Eynulla Aliyev’s works exhibited in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Azeri Cultural Center in Tashkent is hosting an exhibition of works by sculptor Eynulla Aliyev (1937-2001), which opened on 22 October. The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan with support from the Fund Forum and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

Eynulla Aliyev, born in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, created a series of unique stone, copper, bronze and wooden sculptures. A graduate of Ostrovsky Theater Art Institute in Tashkent (later renamed to Mannon Uygur Art Institute), his art was shown in the USA, Finland, a number of CIS countries and at over 20 national exhibitions.

Aliyev participated in the creation of décor in two of Tashkent metro stations, several governmental, public and scientific facilities as well as hotels in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Nukus and other cities. He also contributed to the making of a monument to the prominent Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi located in the National Park in Tashkent. He frequently showed his works at national exhibitions and was elected as a member of the Artist Union of Uzbekistan. In 1977, he was awarded Hamza State Prize of Uzbekistan.

Aliyev’s life and artistic activities are also seen as a symbol of friendship between Azerbaijani and Uzbek people.
