Significant number of jobs – 323,700 (65.5%) were created by small and private businesses, including 160,000 (31.4%) jobs by service sector.
Due to efforts of business entities and local administrations to implementation of measures on expanding out-work, craftsmanship and family business, about 127,000 jobs were created in the reporting period, including 46,100 jobs in cooperation with enterprises, 80,900 jobs based on contract and family business. Over 300,000 people were covered outwork in Uzbekistan as of 1 July 2010.
The activity policy in labour market helped to increase employment of population by 2.7% in the first half of 2010. Number of employed increased by 303,500 and reached 11.4 million people. The growth of employed number observed in construction (6.4%), communal and domestic services (5.3%), transport and communication (4.9%), trade and catering (4.9%).
The stable growth of average salary is observed. The average salary in last month of the first half made up 476,400 soums, which is up by 34.1% year-on-year, the report said.
During the first half, over 4.2 billion soums and US$79 million were spent to implement measures of the programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation”. The measures helped to create 282,800 new jobs for youth and issue preferential mortgage loans for 55.5 billion soums to young families.
