Average nominal monthly salary in Uzbekistan reached 5.79 million soums in Q1 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2025, the average nominal monthly salary in Uzbekistan reached 5,796.1 thousand soums, marking an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

According to regional data, Tashkent City still holds the highest salary level at 9,889.1 thousand soums, an increase of 22.7% from the previous year. In Surkhandarya, the average salary was 4,209.1 thousand soums (a 19.1% growth), in Bukhara—4,763.9 thousand soums (+18.5%), in Syrdarya—4,662.3 thousand soums (+18.5%), in Samarkand—4,353.1 thousand soums (+17.6%), and in Jizzakh—4,370.1 thousand soums (+17.4%).

In several other regions, growth rates were somewhat lower. For example, in Andijan, the average salary was 4,874.5 thousand soums (+11%), in Navoi—7,330.9 thousand soums (+12.6%), in Fergana—4,203.0 thousand soums (+13.7%), in Kashkadarya—4,079.8 thousand soums (+13.7%), in Khorezm—4,580.2 thousand soums (+14.3%), in Tashkent region—5,435.6 thousand soums (+14.3%), in the Republic of Karakalpakstan—4,672.1 thousand soums (+15%), and in Namangan—4,276.9 thousand soums (+16.1%).

Analyzing the data by types of economic activity for January-March 2025 showed significant disparities in salary levels across sectors. The highest increase was in the information and communication sector, with an average salary of 14,818.4 thousand soums, 26.8% higher than the previous year. High growth rates were also noted in the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector (4,831.3 thousand soums, +20.2%) and in the financial sector, which includes banking, insurance, leasing, and intermediary services (15,847.9 thousand soums, +19.8%).

In education, the average salary was 4,044.2 thousand soums (+17.7%), while in the transportation and logistics sector it was 8,719.2 thousand soums (+16%). More modest growth was observed in healthcare and social services (3,626.1 thousand soums, +11.1%), construction (6,013.9 thousand soums, +12.3%), and the hotel and restaurant business (4,790.0 thousand soums, +13%). In industry, salaries reached 6,923.6 thousand soums (+13.6%), and in trade—6,521.5 thousand soums (+15%).

Over the last five years, salaries in the banking and financial sector increased by 9,426.8 thousand soums. In information technology and communications, salaries grew by 9,985.5 thousand soums, in transport and logistics by 5,061.7 thousand soums, in industry by 3,269.7 thousand soums, in construction by 2,441.0 thousand soums, and in culture and leisure by 2,413.2 thousand soums.

In the industrial sector, salaries were distributed as follows: mining and quarrying—9,436.0 thousand soums, energy supply—8,407.5 thousand soums, manufacturing—6,598.7 thousand soums, and water supply and waste disposal—4,481.5 thousand soums.

In trade, the figures for sub-sectors were: car and motorcycle trade and repair—8,702.5 thousand soums, wholesale trade excluding vehicles—6,853.1 thousand soums, and retail trade (excluding vehicles)—5,955.3 thousand soums.

In the transport and logistics sector, salaries were: warehousing and auxiliary transport services—11,594.7 thousand soums, land and pipeline transport—7,187.6 thousand soums, and postal and courier services—4,154.1 thousand soums.

The information technology sector shows high wages: programming, consulting, and related fields—20,780.4 thousand soums, information services—19,515.5 thousand soums, telecommunications—11,140.7 thousand soums.

The financial sector remains the leader in income levels, with the average salary in social insurance, reinsurance, and pension provision at 17,748.2 thousand soums, in financial and insurance services at 17,532.9 thousand soums, and in non-insurance related activities at 15,649.0 thousand soums.

In education, the structure of average salaries was as follows: higher education—9,591.7 thousand soums, technical and vocational education—4,154.4 thousand soums, general secondary education—3,970.4 thousand soums, and preschool education—2,164.3 thousand soums.
