Average monthly nominal wages in Uzbekistan made up 1.82 million soums in 2018

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For January-December 2018, the average monthly nominal accrued wages in the Republic of Uzbekistan made up 1.82 million soums (including wage premiums, remuneration, incentive payments, compensation payments and payments for unearned time, as well as the tax on income earned from individuals, social insurance and trade union fund contributions) and increased, compared to the same period of 2017, by 25.0%.

About 996,300 people work in 22,881 educational institutions (the share of the total number of workers in the republic reached 38.2%), the wages fund amounted to 16.69 trillion soums (the share in the wages fund in the republic equal to 29.3%). In this area, the average monthly nominal accrued wages amounted to 1.39 million soums and increased, compared to the same period of 2017, by 20.4%.

The highest wage level was observed in the city of Tashkent – 1.76 million soums (makes up 126.5% of the national average), Jizzakh region – 1.46 million soums (104.7%), Tashkent region – 1.44 million soums (103.1%), and Khorezm region – 1.28 million soums (91.8%) and Kashkadarinsk region – 1.27 million soums (91.2%) below the national average.

In industry, 614 enterprises employ 452,800 people (the proportion of the total number of workers in the republic is 17.4%), the wage fund reached 14.84 trillion soums (the share in the wage fund in the republic is 26, 0%). Here, the average monthly nominal wage is equal to 2.73 million soums and increased, compared to the same period of 2017, by 30.6%.

The highest wage level was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 3.24 million soums (118.9% of the average national indicator), Navoi region – 3.21 million soums (117.7% ), Tashkent city – 3.17million soums (116.4%) and Tashkent region – 2.93 million soums (107.4%), in Namangan region there was the smallest indicator among the regions – 1.62 million soums (59.6%), Jizzakh -1.82 million soums (66.7%).

About 432,700 people work in the sphere of healthcare and social services in 1,408 institutions (the proportion of the total number of workers in the republic is 16.6%), the wages fund reached 6.09 trillion soums (share in the wages fund 10.7% in the republic). The average monthly nominal wage in the sector reached 1.17 million soums and increased, compared to the same period of 2017, by 19.8%.

The highest level was observed in the city of Tashkent – 1.4 million soums (119.7% of the national average), Bukhara region – 1.29 million soums (110.0%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 1.27 million soums (108.8%), Syrdarya region – 1.24 million soums (105.8%), and in Kashkadarya – 1 million soums (85.9%) and Samarkand – 1.08 million soums (92.2%) regions below the national average.

In the field of transportation and storage in 207 organizations, there are 116,800 people (the proportion in the total number of employees in the republic is 4.5%), the wages fund is 3.51 trillion soums (the share in the salary fund in the republic 6.2%). In this area, the average monthly nominal accrued wages reached 2.5 million soums and increased, as compared with the same period of 2017, by 23.6%.

In this sphere, the highest wage level observed in Tashkent city – 3.03 million soums (accounting for 120.9% of the average national indicator), Bukhara region – 2.52 million soums (100.5%), below the national average in Andijan – 1.14 million soums (45.4%) and Samarkand region – 1.21 million soums (48.3%).

In the sphere of banking, insurance, leasing, credit and intermediary activities, 67,600 people work in 173 institutions (the share of the total number of workers in the republic is 2.6%), the wages fund is 2.84 trillion soums (the specific weight in the payroll in the republic is 5.0%). In this area, the average monthly nominal accrued wages amounted to 3.5 million soums and increased, compared to the same period of 2017, by 29.9%.

The highest wage level in this area was observed in Tashkent city – 4.69 million soums (from the average national indicator - 134.1%), below the average national indicator was noted in Syrdarya region – 2.36 million soums (67.0%) and Tashkent region – 2.56 million (73.3%).

In January-December 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, the highest growth in nominal wages by type of economic activity was observed in the field of information and communication - by 33.8%, industry - by 30.6%, banking, insurance, leasing and credit intermediary activities - by 29.9%, construction - by 29.2%.

The highest wage level was observed in the city of Tashkent – 2.57 million soums (141.1% of the national average), Navoi – 2.37 million soums (130.1%) and Tashkent – 2.06 million soums (113.2%) regions, the lowest figure in Samarkand region – 1.43 million soums (78.5%) and Namangan region – 1.43 million soums (78.7%).
