Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The average exchange rate of the dollar for 2025 has been set at 13,250 soums, according to the draft budget message for 2025–2027 published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
It is expected that the GDP for next year will amount to 1.63 quadrillion soums, equivalent to 123 billion US dollars.
In these and other calculations, the average exchange rate of the dollar to the soum for 2025 will increase by 4.8% compared to the anticipated level for 2024.
For 2026, the exchange rate is projected to be 13,725 soums, and for 2027, it is forecasted at 14,150 soums.
For 2024, the average exchange rate of the dollar is expected to be around 12,640 soums.
The average exchange rate of the dollar to the soum represents the average exchange rate for the calendar year and is used for budgetary and economic forecasts to account for currency fluctuations throughout the year and provide a more stable benchmark for calculations in the national currency.
Additionally, according to the calculations by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, a depreciation of the national currency by 100 soums will increase government budget expenses by 240 billion soums, while the budget message for 2024 estimated these expenses at 400 billion soums.
The Chairman of the Central Bank, Mamarizo Nurmuratov, stated at a press conference on October 31 that a 1% devaluation of the soum would lead to a 0.3 percentage point increase in inflation.
