Average entrance mark at Universities makes up 161.9
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Average mark at entrance tests for higher educational establishments of Uzbekistan made up 161.9 points for grant-based and 135.2 points for contract-based education, director of State Test Center Bahramjon Ismailov said.

He said that test examinations were conducted in 12,680 premises at 633 buildings in 2012. He said that the questions from books and educational literature for 2011-2012 academic year.

He said that some 432,017 people submitted their applications to universities in 2012, which grew by 13,112 compared to previous year. He said that 7.6 people applied to one place.

Ismailov said that the winners of international and local Olympiads, Zulfiya award, other competitions, military servants and others receive preferences.

He said that Termez State University (12.9 people for one place), Gulistan State University (12.4), Ferghana State University (11.9), Andijan State University (11.6) and Namangan State University (11) have largest competition for one place.

He said that average mark at entrance tests in humanitarian sphere was 162.3 points for grant-based education and 136.6 points for contract-based education.

Bahramjon Ismailov noted that in social, economic and legal areas, the average point was 188 for grant-based education and 167.4 for contract-based education. The figure made up 167.4 points and 158.8 points respectively in production and technical areas, he stated.

Ismailov underlined that in agriculture and water management, the average point made up 141.6 and 108.3 points respectively, and in healthcare and social sector – 176.4 and 156.5 points correspondingly.

He said that the average mark in service sector was 152.3 points for grant-based education and 125.8 points for contract-based education.

Ismailov stated that the highest marks were recorded in world policy – 201.3 points on grant-based education and 162.1 points on contract-based education.

The lowest mark was recorded in veterinary sphere, which made up 100.2 points for grant-based education and 83.7 points for contract-based education.
