FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumjinov said that many guests visited the tournament within two weeks and many of them were children. He said that this tournament is held not only for professionals, but also to promote chess worldwide.
Kirsan Ilyumjinov recalled that FIDE and Fund Forum agreed to hold international chess tournament each year in Uzbekistan. He said that International Student Chess Tournament will be held in September 2013 in Tashkent.
Sergey Karjakin, Alexander Morozevich and Wang Hao won the second stage of FIDE Grand Prix in Tashkent, who collected 6.5 points.
Uzbekistan’s Rustam Kasimdjanov collected six points as he played draw in 10 out of 11 matches.
Director-Genral of Ucell Ali Agan launched a special prize Audience Award of Ucell. He added that Rustam Kasimdzhanov will get it. He handed over a diploma and special prize from Ucell to Kasimdzhanov.
