Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first nine months of 2024, the ATTO system recorded 101.7 million card transactions, indicating its active use in public transport. An analysis of the data reveals several key trends showcasing the development of the transport system.

Dominance of Public Transport: Public transport remains a key mode of transportation for residents, evidenced by over 356.4 million transactions conducted on it.

Increase in Cashless Payments: There has been a significant rise in the use of bank cards for fare payments. The number of transactions made with bank cards in the first nine months of 2024 increased by 70.1%, reaching 95.1 million. This trend indicates a shift towards more convenient and modern payment methods for transport fares.

Popularity of QR Tickets: QR tickets are actively being implemented in the public transport system, particularly in the metro, where 55.3 million transactions have been recorded using them.

The popularity of QR tickets is also evident in buses (with 2.9 million transactions) and in the metro (with 1.7 million transactions) utilizing mobile QR codes.

Development of Mobile Technologies: The introduction of mobile payments, such as QR payments and the use of virtual cards, demonstrates a growing reliance on mobile devices in the transport sector. Over the first nine months of 2024, there were 1.2 million transactions made using virtual cards.

Transport Cards: The use of tariff cards dominates, accounting for 39.2 million of the total card transactions (101.7 million).

QR Payments: The high demand for QR tickets in the metro (55.3 million transactions) highlights their attractiveness to users. The increasing popularity of QR payments in buses and metro, utilizing mobile QR codes (2.9 million and 1.7 million transactions, respectively), confirms the growing role of mobile technologies in the transport sector.

Virtual Cards: The increase in transactions made with virtual cards (1.2 million) reflects the rising popularity of cashless payments and the convenience of using digital technologies in public transport.
