Attempts to illegally sell drugs were stopped in three regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the State Security Service departments in Samarkand, Namangan and Ferghana regions stopped attempts to illegally sell drugs smuggled from neighboring countries.

A 21-year-old resident of Urgut district of Samarkand region, in collaboration with a 40-year-old citizen, imported 2.8 kg of opium from Tajikistan. They were detained while trying to sell drugs for US$40.5 thousand.

In another case, a Cobalt car traveling from Samarkand to Tashkent was stopped in Jambay district. During examination, two passengers, a 31-year-old and a 28-year-old resident of Urgut district, were found to have 1.6 kg of opium.

In Namangan region, the patrol service in Pap district stopped a Nexia car moving from Tashkent to Ferghana. The passenger, a 37-year-old man, threw the package out of the window. After checking, it became known that the package contained 1.9 kg of hashish.

It turned out that the man purchased drugs from Tajikistan for US$8 thousand and planned to leave them in a secret place in Buka district of Tashkent region.

In Altyaryk district of Ferghana region, a 34-year-old resident of Ferghana was detained while trying to sell 770 g of hashish for US$7 thousand. As a result of the preliminary investigation, it was established that the drugs were brought from Kyrgyzstan, and the identity of the real owner of the drugs was revealed, who was also detained.

On all these facts, criminal cases have been initiated, and measures of detention have been taken against the detained persons.
