Atomexpo 2024 forum kicks off in Sochi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 13th International Forum “Atomexpo-2024” started on Monday at the Sirius Park in Sochi.

The forum, which brought together experts and specialists from dozens of countries under its roof, will be dedicated to the topic “Clean Energy: Creating the Future Together.”

Atomexpo 2024 will continue until 26 March and includes eight key areas: from Energy and Industry to Ecology, Logistics, Digitalization, Healthcare, Science and Education.

Each of these areas will be examined in detail through sessions, round tables and panel discussions with the participation of the international community of experts.

Discussions will focus on green technologies, the contribution of artificial intelligence to nuclear energy, prospects for the development of nuclear technologies, digitalization and other modern challenges.

Particular attention at the plenary session will be paid to the role of IV generation technologies in creating a sustainable future, implementing low-carbon development strategies and achieving global climate goals.

It is planned to hold about 40 events and sign several international agreements.

The forum includes an exhibition portion and an extensive business program, focusing on the role of nuclear power in a clean energy future, human resource management, infrastructure, financing and investment, and the development of non-power nuclear technologies.

Alexey Likhachev, general director of the Russian state corporation, said at the opening of the forum that nuclear technology cannot be stopped in its development.

According to him, the current forum has become a record in terms of the number of participants, international guests and delegate countries. This time, representatives from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Iraq are participating for the first time.

“I especially want to highlight the privileged participation of African representatives. This continent represents enormous potential for the development of nuclear technologies,” Likhachev emphasized.

He also noted that this is the first completely environmentally friendly forum where all energy sources are green.

“The motto of the forum is “clean energy: creating the future together.” Particular emphasis on the words “future” and “together,” he added.

“We will discuss the fourth generation of nuclear technology, thermonuclear fusion and other innovations. Only through the joint efforts of all countries can we build a clean energy future for our planet,” concluded the head of Rosatom.
