Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By order of the Minister of Transport, the Rules for the transportation of goods by rail of the Republic of Uzbekistan were approved. They will come into force at the end of the year – 24 December 2023, Norma reports.

The rules determine the procedure and conditions for organizing cargo transportation by rail to ensure traffic safety, the integrity of cargo and railway structures in motion. The document is also aimed at maintaining environmental safety, taking into account the characteristics of cargo on public railways of Uzbekistan.

To carry out cargo transportation, a transportation contract is concluded between the carrier and the shipper, on the basis of which the railway transport (carrier) undertakes to deliver the cargo entrusted to it in full and in a timely manner from the point of transfer to the specified point, and the sender (shipper) undertakes to pay for the transportation and ensure acceptance of the cargo.

Documents related to the transportation of goods by rail, including railway invoices, orders for the transportation of goods and other documents, can be issued in electronic form.
