Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Mobile World Congress MWC Barcelona 2025 is currently taking place in Barcelona, with a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies participating in the event.

As one of the largest global gatherings in the field of information and communication technologies and the mobile industry, the congress brings together leading telecom operators, IT companies, and regulatory bodies from around the world. Experts and industry professionals discuss key ICT trends and showcase cutting-edge technological solutions.

The event features major international IT companies, software and hardware developers, telecom operators, and representatives of national IT markets. One of the key highlights of the congress was the "Global Technology Governance" session, organized as part of the ICT Ministers Program.

This program brought together representatives of ministries, regulatory agencies, international organizations, and technology companies to discuss digital regulation and establish direct dialogue between leaders of major firms.

During this session, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, announced that the regional event "GSMA M360 Eurasia 2025" would take place in Tashkent on May 21–22, 2025. He invited international organizations and leading IT companies to participate in the forum and explore Uzbekistan’s potential in digital technologies.

MWC Barcelona 2025 covers a wide range of topics, including the development of mobile technologies, the prospects of 5G/LTE and the introduction of new communication standards, cybersecurity and data protection, artificial intelligence, the concept of smart cities, mobile commerce, and open mobile systems.

As part of the forum, the delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies will also hold meetings with representatives of foreign IT companies and take part in specialized conferences.
