Representatives of the SCO member states and observer states are to participate in the work of the session. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to have meetings with the delegations.
It is expected that Prime Ministers of the SCO will sign a Joint Communique and a number of other documents on the SCO member countries’ interaction.
The last meeting of the heads of the SCO member states’ governments was held in Tashkent in November 2007.
The SCO, a regional organization founded in June 2001, comprises China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, with Pakistan, Mongolia, Iran and India holding observer status.
