Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Association of retail and catering enterprises to be established in UzbekistanUzbekistan is set to establish the Association of Retail and Catering Enterprises, with the founder of the Korzinka supermarket chain, Zafar Hashimov, appointed as its head.
On 7 February, the President of Uzbekistan held a meeting focused on the development of the services sector and plans for 2025. Zafar Hashimov, who also chairs the supervisory board of Anglesey Food, participated in the event.
"We initiated the creation of an association for entrepreneurs engaged in trade and services. The idea received support during the meeting. As a result, together with nine other founders, we have established the association," Hashimov stated.
According to him, the organization will serve an expert function, assisting government bodies, entrepreneurs, and those looking to start a business. It will also work towards reducing poverty and unemployment in the regions.
In an interview with Uzbekiston 24 television channel, Hashimov highlighted that businesses owned by the association’s founders currently employ 50,000 people. As experts in the services industry, the association’s representatives plan to visit regions, engage local entrepreneurs, and provide them with support.
Members of the association will not only share their knowledge and experience but also facilitate the establishment of new enterprises.
Additionally, Hashimov announced plans to expand the Korzinka supermarket network by increasing the number of 24/7 stores. While last year 21 supermarkets operated round the clock, this number is set to rise to 32 in the near future.
