Assets of commercial banks of Uzbekistan exceed 214.32 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 January  2019, the assets of Uzbekistan’s commercial banks made up 214.32 trillion soums, which is 28.6% higher compared to the same period of 2017, according to the data of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Credit investments of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 51.4% in the reporting period and reached 167.39 trillion soums as of 1 January 2019.

The volume of deposits as of 1 January 2019 exceeded 70 trillion soums, which is 17.5% higher compared to the same period of 2017.

The total capital of commercial banks of Uzbekistan as of 1 January 2019 reached 26.58 trillion soums, which is 28.5% more compared to the same period of 2017.

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (56.52 trillion soums or 26.4% of all assets of the banking sector of Uzbekistan), Uzpromstroybank (30.5 trillion soums or 14.1%) and Asaka Bank (30.35 trillion soums or 14.2% ) have become leaders in terms of the volume of assets.

The same banks were leading in terms of the volume of loans. The National Bank of Uzbekistan provided loans for 46.57 trillion soums (27.8% of total loans), Uzpromstroybank - 27.29 trillion (16.3%) and Asaka Bank - 24.75 trillion sums (14.8%).

The three leaders in terms of capital also included the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.72 trillion soums or 21.5% of total capital), Asaka Bank (3.16 trillion soums or 11.9%) and Uzpromstroybank (2.84 trillion soums or 10.7%).

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (11.74 trillion soums or 16.8% of total deposits attracted), Asaka Bank (6.77 trillion soums or 9.7%) and Ipoteka Bank (6.75 trillion soums or 9, 7%) entered the Top-3 by the volume of attracted deposits.
