In line with the resolution, Asadjon Khodjaev has been appointed as director-general of the Agency for intellectual property.

Prior to appointment, Asadjon Khodjaev worked as deputy director-general of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information.

As reported earlier, Agency for intellectual property of Uzbekistan was founded in May 2011 on the base of the State Patent Office of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek Agency for Copyright.

The main tasks and directions of the activity of the newly created agency are ensuring implementation of the single state policy on protection of intellectual property, provide legal protection to inventions, industrial samples, useful models, trademarks and other objects on intellectual property, etc.
