As part of the “Day of Meeting with Representatives of Agriculture”, thematic panel sessions are held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 December 2022, thematic panel sessions were held in Tashkent on the territory of the Uzexpocenter as part of the "Day of Meeting with Representatives of Agriculture". The session program consisted of four blocks.

In the first block, the moderator was the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Mirzaev. The theme of the panel discussion is the issues of effective interaction between agricultural enterprises and financial institutions.

Among the speakers were representatives of banks, farmers and homeowners.

The issues of financing the agricultural sector, coordinating the correct processing of information and statistics of the agricultural and food sectors, creating favorable conditions for clusters, farms and farms in the regions were discussed here.

“Through the implementation of the tasks specified in the Agricultural Development Strategy, such as increasing the export potential of the agricultural sector, increasing the output of value-added products, creating a completely new system based on full market mechanisms in all sectors of agriculture, free competition develops. To finance the costs of cultivating 1 million 32 thousand hectares of grain land for the 2022 harvest, 3.9 trillion soums were allocated from the Fund, as a result, 7.2 million tons (69.7 c/ha) of the crop were obtained.

In 2020-2022, 2 trillion 696 billion soums of subsidies were allocated to agricultural entities from the State budget to cover part of the costs,” Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Mirzaev said in his speech.

Lectures were also held on working with loans and foreign grants from international financial organizations.

In the second block, the moderator was the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Maksud Ruzmetov. The block is devoted to the issues of increasing the efficiency of land and water resources use.

The speakers were experts from the Ministry of Water Resources of Uzbekistan, specialists from the cadastral agency, etc.

The topics of land development, increasing soil fertility and productivity were raised; ensuring employment and stable income of the population by allocating land; the effectiveness of the introduction of water-saving technologies.

“The government is taking systematic measures aimed at developing agriculture, increasing the incomes of farmers and clusters, and ensuring food safety.

The effectiveness of these works is clearly reflected these days, when the results of the agricultural season and the results achieved are summed up. A lot of work is being done in the Republic to prevent water shortages and the efficient use of available water resources. When using water-saving technologies, we prioritize the introduction of technologies such as drip, sprinkling and discrete irrigation, as well as land leveling technology with laser levelers,” Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Maksud Ruzmetov said in his speech.

Lectures were also held on the effective use of energy-saving technologies in agriculture.

The third block of sessions is devoted to modern technologies in agriculture. It was presented by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Turaev.

Among the speakers were the heads of the Ministries of Agriculture and Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, experts from the Agency for the Development of Horticulture and Greenhouses, foreign guests.

In the discussion, the topics of introducing the best world experience in new developments in agriculture were discussed; creation of new types of seeds based on innovative solutions, taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of the regions; digitalization of the agri-food chain and the launch of a unified agricultural platform.

Also, lectures were given on consulting and supporting the use of modern energy-saving technologies in the agro-industrial complex.

The final, fourth panel session is devoted to the trends in creating a high-value chain in the food industry. The moderator was Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture Alisher Shukurov. Among the speakers were experts from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Plant Protection and Quarantine Agency, representatives of the Economic Assembly, and foreign experts.

The session discussed the implementation of investment projects in the agricultural and food sectors; storage of agricultural products, increase in processing volumes and development of agro-logistic infrastructure, as well as issues of production, export and quarantine of food products. Lectures were given on the possibilities of using international standards.
