Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 November, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding the Dustlik (Friendship) Order to two Russian artists.
The recipients of the honor are Sergey Bezrukov, artistic director of the Moscow Drama Theater and renowned theater and film actor, and Andris Liepa, a celebrated ballet dancer and director.
The decree highlights their "significant contributions to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, fostering traditional ties of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples, and enriching cultural and artistic values."
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree awarding Russia’s Order of Friendship to two distinguished artists from Uzbekistan.
The recipients are Farrukh Zokirov, artistic director of the vocal ensemble Yalla, and renowned singer Sevara Nazarxon. The awards recognize their "productive efforts in bringing closer and enriching the cultures of Russia and Uzbekistan."
