Artisans Center to be erected in New Uzbekistan park

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On measures to attract the population to handicrafts and create favorable conditions for the development of handicraft activities" was adopted.

Until 1 January 2025 for artisans included in the "National Catalog of Masters of Folk Applied Art" and "Register of Craftsmen Operating in the Tourism Sphere":

the turnover tax rate on proceeds from the sale of handicraft products (works, services) for a calendar year in the amount of more than 100 million soums, but not exceeding 1 billion soums, is reduced by 50 percent;

national registration of trademarks is free of charge.

At least 70 percent of the funds allocated for the development of homework and handicrafts in 2023 as part of family business development programs will be used to finance projects to develop handicrafts.

The Homeworking Support Fund has been renamed the Handicrafts and Homeworking Support Fund, from 15 June 2023, financial support measures for handicrafts will be carried out at the expense of the Fund.

The List of subsidies allocated to support handicraft activities at the expense of the Handicraft and Homework Support Fund has been approved (see below).

From 1 July 2023:

when exporting handicraft products, 50 percent of the costs of sending as international postal and courier items are reimbursed, but not more than 50 percent of the cost of exporting products (excluding shipping costs);

a procedure is introduced for leasing real estate objects of material cultural heritage that are state property for the implementation of handicraft activities exclusively to artisans included in the National Catalog and the Register, through an electronic online auction.

Until 1 March 2024, the construction of the Artisans Center will be provided, including a demonstration hall, the Usta-shogird school and a workshop, on a land plot of 0.3 hectares in the territory adjacent to the New Uzbekistan park, and each artisan will be provided with rooms up to 100 square meters.
