Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, within the framework of the International Week of Innovative Ideas "InnoWeek.Uz-2021", an International Conference on "Artificial Intelligence - the Basis of Technological Development" was held.
During the event, the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov, the Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Sh.Turdikulova, as well as foreign guests from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan and Italy made speeches.
In his welcoming speech, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov noted the importance of developing artificial intelligence and introducing it into our daily life.
- On the basis of 4 higher educational institutions, more than 130 specialists in the field of artificial intelligence began to be trained, and 15 universities introduced courses and disciplines on the practical application of artificial intelligence in industries and sectors of the economy, public administration, - said Sh. Shermatov.
“In addition, training in the field of" Artificial Intelligence "is gradually being introduced in large universities. Since the 2021/2022 academic year, higher educational institutions and scientific organizations have allocated 77 (59 - in undergraduate and 18 - in magistracy) quotas for training in the direction of "Artificial Intelligence".
The Higher Attestation Commission has opened a special area of doctoral studies "Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence". Since 2022, 5 quotas have been allocated for doctoral studies in artificial intelligence and a target quota for independent researchers.
The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation allocated 30 quotas for short-term foreign scientific internships in the field of artificial intelligence, and the winners were sent to study at leading foreign universities in the USA, Russia, India and Great Britain, Sherzod Shermatov noted.
Prior to the start of her welcoming speech at the international conference, Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Sh.Turdikulova invited girls from the IT Queens team to the stage, which presented its project on the development of artificial intelligence at the annual conference Artificial Intelligence Journey on 12 November in Moscow and became one of the best international competition artificial intelligence for youth, and presented them with gifts.

In addition, a total of 33 target quotas have been allocated for fundamental doctoral research and internships in artificial intelligence. Of these, 19 basic doctoral programs and 14 internships in the specialty "05.01.11-Digital technologies and artificial intelligence".
In the second season of the Urban.Tech Uzbekistan hackathon competition, which will be held in 2022, it is planned to implement projects on the use of artificial intelligence to solve the problem of routes.
