Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 October, in Geneva, a memorandum was signed between the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan and the Michelangelo Foundation on joining the Homo Faber international network in order to cooperate in promoting the applied arts of Uzbekistan.
The Homo Faber project is an open online database of arts and crafts from around the world, a range of exhibition and educational programs for young artisans, and a network of experiences between the world’s leading designers working with natural materials and craftsmen. As part of this memorandum, the first 10 selected Uzbek artisans will represent Uzbekistan in the Home Faber global network.
This initiative is aimed at supporting the cultural heritage of the country, as well as the development and promotion of national crafts in the international arena.
