Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In France, ahead of the official opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, preliminary rounds for various sports have commenced.
Uzbekistan has made its debut in archery at the Olympics for the first time in history.
On 25 July, archers Ziyodakhon Abdusattorova and Amirhan Sadikov participated in the individual events’ preliminary rounds.
Ziyodakhon Abdusattorova ranked 34th out of 64 athletes in the ranking round, scoring 649 points. She will start her medal quest from the 1/32 finals on July 31, where she will compete against Mari Horáčková from the Czech Republic, who ranked 31st with 651 points.
Uzbekistan’s Amirhan Sadikov scored 674 points in 72 attempts, placing 13th. He will face Mario Damian from Argentina in the 1/32 finals on July 31. Damian qualified 52nd with a score of 643 points.
