Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Swiss city of Lausanne hosted the latest stage of the prestigious Diamond League athletics tournament, where Uzbekistan’s Anvar Anvarov claimed a brilliant victory.

The Uzbek athlete delivered a leap of 7.84 meters, securing the gold medal. Switzerland’s Simon Ehammer took silver with a jump of 7.72 meters, while 2019 world champion Tajay Gayle of Jamaica earned bronze with 7.71 meters.

This triumph is historic: Anvarov became only the second Uzbek athlete ever to win a Diamond League stage, following in the footsteps of Safina Sadullaeva.
