Anton Chazov heads Beeline compliance function in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Largest communications operator Beeline appointed Anton Chazov to the post of the head of compliance unit. In this position, he will supervise implementation of measures on improving the company procedures, compliance with current legislation and the protection of business reputation.

Unitel CEO Dmitriy Shukov said: “Beeline in Uzbekistan is always distinguished by high level of corporate management, transparency and honesty in relationships with its partners. The implementation of compliance function into the management model of the company is a step towards greater transparency in accordance with the requirements of time and dynamically developing market of the republic. I am sure, that Anton, with his experience of public service and work in the major international organizations, will help us successfully to move on to the high standards of business conducting”.

At the position of Head of compliance, Anton Chazov will have to ensure implementation of the VimpelCom Ltd compliance strategy to the existing policies and procedures of the company, as well as to support the implementation of the business ethics and conduct principles by the employees and contractors of Beeline.

“In most cases, organizations which are focused on the issues of compliance, consciously take on themselves the additional obligations in the area of corporate ethics and counteracting corruption. Raising the priority of these directions, we expect that our partners will follow us - because the compliance is aimed not only on the openness and efficiency of business processes, but also on improving the business environment in the market as a whole. After all, the reputation is the main intangible asset of the company and in its preservation I see one of its most important tasks,” Anton Chazov said.

Anton Chazov graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Law of Prosecutor-General Office in the Russian Federation in 2010, where he further passed the postgraduate study.

From 1997 to 2000, he was investigating officer of Prosecution body of Petrodvorec district of St. Petersburg. Then, until 2003, he taught criminal law at his alma mater. In January 2003, he joined the American Bar Association (ABA / ROLI), where for 10 years he has gone the way from a lawyer to the deputy director of the Moscow branch.

Since 2013, Anton Chazov worked at Johnson & Johnson as a specialist in ethical business practices, providing, among other things, the monitoring of compliance by the employees of the company with international requirements, foreign and Russian anti-corruption legislation.
