Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 11 July 2024, another round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan took place in Tokyo.
The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bobur Usmanov, and the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia, the Caucasus, and GUAM, Masaki Ikegami.
During the negotiations, issues regarding the intensification of political dialogue, development of trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian, and other spheres of cooperation were discussed. Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and expanding the contractual and legal framework of relations.
Both sides noted positive dynamics in the development of interstate relations and affirmed their readiness to mobilize all opportunities for further deepening comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
Special attention was given to the schedule and organizational aspects of joint bilateral and interregional events, including "Central Asia + Japan."
The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
