The Convention aims to strengthen requirements for ensuring safety and health in the workplace and the working environment, including the prevention of accidents and health risks faced by workers and employees at work or during work hours.
Senators emphasized that given the developing cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Labour Organization, it is essential for national labor legislation to align with international labor standards, making the ratification of this Convention appropriate.
It was underscored that the ratification of the Convention will serve to improve national legislation and safety and health standards defined in International Labour Organization documents, as well as facilitate the effective implementation of international standards aimed at preventing accidents, occupational diseases, and other negative consequences that may arise during work.
