Google I/O is an annual software developer-focused conference held by Google in San Francisco. Google I/O includes various sessions focused on building web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies. Google has been holding Google I/O since 2008.
IUT organized the Google I/O Extended for the third time. Over 300 young developers and coders, as well as students of universities of Uzbekistan attended the conference.
This year, Google hosted its Google I/O conference on 17 May 2017. During the conference, Google presented new version of its operating system Android (Android 8.0 or O), light version of the system – Android Go, new opportunities of Google Assistant and Google Photos, as well as announced launch of Google Home system outside of the United States. The company also presented its solution and proposals in virtual reality.
In the first part of the conference, the participants familiarized themselves with new solutions and products of Google, which were presented at the main event Google I/O 2017.
During the event at IUT, representatives of local IT companies presented their reports. They shared their knowledge and experience in various directions of IT field. Among them were specialists of such companies as UzMobile, Stolik.uz, Datasite, Huawei, Super Dispatch, Texnoman, Payme, Newmax, ASBT, United Games, Net Extension, Delphi.uz, Brandbox Branding, Zefir VR, pomidor.uz and others.
Participants also took part in practical sessions on the creation of web and mobile applications, as well as computer games. They also received information on ensuring security in creating apps.
This year, within the framework of Google I/O 2017 Extended, FIFA 2017 tournament was organized in cooperation with Uzbekistan Virtual Sport Games and Cyber Football Federation.
IUT student and one of organizers of Google I/O Extended Nigmatjon Anvarov said that annually Inha University in Tashkent is holding Google I/O Extended conference to improve motivation of students to learn advanced technologies. The event also helps students of various universities to establish contacts and cooperation with developers and be aware of the latest trends.
Within the framework of such conferences, young specialists can find like-minded people for creation of various innovative projects, which will contribute to development of Uzbekistan’s IT market and promotion of local products in global markets, he added.
