Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product (GRP) of Andijan region rose by 9.6% year-on-year in 2009. Industrial output grew by 18.9% in the reporting period and agriculture production increased by 4.4%. The volume of paid service rose by 14.7% and retail trade turnover up 14.5%. The region is implementing concrete measures on support of production, attraction of investments and modernization. In particular, direct investments were used in 20 projects. About 22 enterprises, included into localization programme, produced goods for 51 billion soums, which allowed to save about US$34 million.
