Andijan region’s GRP increases by 11.3% in 2011

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of gross regional product of Andijan region grew by 11.3% year-on-year in 2011, the session of MPs of local council said.

The region continued work on modernization, technical and technologic re-equipment of capacities. Some US$44.4 million were attracted to implementation of 44 projects in 2011. About 53% of them were foreign direct investment, Uza reported.

In line with the regional employment programme, Andijan region created over 80,000 jobs and major part of them fell to share of small and private businesses.
