Andijan International Airport opens to Passengers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 20 March 2024, Andijan International Airport will resume regular passenger flights.

The inaugural Tashkent – Andijan – Tashkent flight marks a new chapter in the region's air connectivity.

Silk Avia has already begun ticket sales for flights US601/US602, which will be operated using modern ATR-72-600 aircraft.

Flights are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays as follows:

11:20 – Departure from Tashkent, 12:20 – Arrival in Andijan

13:00 – Departure from Andijan, 14:00 – Arrival in Tashkent

This development represents a significant milestone in improving the region’s transport infrastructure. In the near future, the resumption of international flights is also planned, creating new opportunities for tourism and business.

The first phase of a large-scale airport reconstruction project has been completed ahead of the reopening. A new 4E-category runway, measuring 3,300 meters in length and 60 meters in width, has been commissioned, enabling the airport to accommodate modern aircraft. Additionally, a taxiway and an apron with three aircraft parking stands have been built.

However, the terminal building remains unchanged for now. Its modernization is planned for the second phase of reconstruction, set to begin soon.

The reopening of Andijan International Airport is expected to significantly enhance connectivity, boost economic growth, and further integrate the region into national and international transport networks.
